The Jerusalem Bird Observatory is the first urban nature site of its kind in Israel. The observatory is located in Sacher park, right next to the Knesset, and is a resting place for tens of thousands of birds and an attraction for many visitors.

The area of the observatory is about 5,000 square meters and it is managed by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel. It was established in 1994 to preserve one of Jerusalem's most beautiful and special natural sites, at a time when the birds' nesting areas are shrinking due to the massive construction in the city.

At the observatory, visitors can view different types of birds from a designated hideout, as well as participate in bird ringing activities. Visiting the observatory provides a surprising and accessible opportunity to view undisturbed nature in the heart of the bustling city.
