It is a symbol of artistic freedom and an open door for creators from all ends of the social and political spectrum. The Cinematheque instilled the love of cinema in generations of viewers and influenced many filmmakers who saw it as their second home. The Cinematheque operates from artistic considerations and allows watching screenings of films that commercial cinemas avoid showing due to economic
